From the Desk of Kevin Dinnin, President & CEO

"In this season of anticipation and joy, this no doubt finds you busy with family traditions as we look forward to celebrating the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, with those we love…

As I sit at my desk I hear comments in the hallways about how Christmas is just a month away and I think to myself… where does the time go? It’s almost 2013, and another great year for BCFS is drawing to a close. I reflect on 2012, and the outstanding work, accomplishments, and growth we have experienced are significant. As a donor myself, I value the increasing return of my investment in positively impacting the lives of the less fortunate.

Your investment in our ministry allows us to continue to touch tens of thousands of lives across the globe, literally. Our reach and advancement is a direct result of people like you who stand steadfast in our no fail philosophy at BCFS. A hallmark of our unprecedented expansion and stalwart stewardship is that each and every day the BCFS team of professionals strives to ensure ours is a great organization, not just an organization trying to do good work.

We’re together in a powerful endeavor… Ours is a great calling, as you well know. In today’s political and social climate, taking care of God’s children who are in need with love and conviction is difficult. But we’re in this together. God has placed us in this moment not to decry this calling as a burden, but to take it on as the clarion challenge of our generation – and to succeed in truly turning our culture toward life filled with hope and purpose.

The continued and profound difference we are making is evident in the countless stories we hear from the children we serve coast to coast and around the world… stories like that of David. David grew up in a very dysfunctional home filled with anger, abuse, and the absence of Christ. He was desperate to find refuge and found himself completely lost… a vulnerable teenager living on the streets and struggling to survive. I can’t imagine a child feeling so lost and hopeless. Thanks to one of our Teen and Youth Transition Centers, David is now drug free, recently earned his GED, and is working full time and living on his own. Knowing that there are so many more out there struggling just like David keeps us steadfast in our mission.

BCFS has many more milestones to achieve in 2013 and in the years to come. We need your continued generosity and commitment to our ministry; we simply cannot do God’s work without your partnership to serve the Least of These among us. I have for your convenience enclosed a self- addressed stamped envelope for your financial gift. As we approach Christmas and close out 2012, I want to sincerely thank you. We know that God has a plan for our organization to continue touching lives with the hope of Christ; to continue changing hearts; and to be a refuge to those who are alone in this world. I pray that you too will continue to walk beside us in this ministry."

“And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favor with God.” (Luke 1:30) May the spiritual gifts of this season – love, peace, faith and joy – be with you.

Yours in Christ,

Kevin C. Dinnin, President & CEO
